PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL INFORMATION I am a licensed clinical social worker and former health care attorney. I graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a master's degree in social work in 2000. During my time at Loyola, I completed a two-year field training placement in psychotherapy at the Josselyn Center for Mental Health, where I worked with adults of all ages experiencing a variety of mental health issues. Upon graduation, I worked at the North Shore Senior Center helping elders and their families to cope with the challenges of staying independent. I opened my practice as a private practitioner in 2007. My practice focuses on problems of mid-life as well as advancing age. However, I welcome adults of all ages into my practice.
MY APPROACH TO TREATMENT
My philosophy as a therapist is simple: I believe that healing and change occur directly as a result of the unique relationship that develops between therapist and client. Within the safety of this nurturing relationship, I take a common sense approach to treatment, and tailor my style and techniques to the needs of each client. Together, we will develop a plan that identifies your goals and outlines steps to achieve those goals.
I have a deep respect for the power of the human spirit and help my clients focus on their strengths, rather than their weaknesses. My ultimate aim is to help each person to feel better and live the fullest life possible.
